Sweet Leaf has been a popular leafy green perennial vegetable in Malaysia (especially Borneo) for many years.
The leaves and the top 15cm of stem tips of the Sauropus plant have a pleasant taste, similar to fresh garden peas, with a slightly nutty flavor. It is one of the most popular leaf vegetables in Southeast Asia . You can cook it with crab meat, minced pork or dried shrimp to make soup or stir-fried with egg or dried anchovies.
It is delicious leave and mostly useful for produce milk after maternity.
Warning: It is important that leaves are cooked before consumption. Do not use raw in green smoothies as they can be harmful to health.
The leave can be also use as remedy for fading face dark spot by juicing the leaves then use the juice as the face mask for 20-30 minutes then clean the face with cool water three times a week for three months you will have bright and toned skin.
